Eminem’s real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, he was born on October 17, 1972, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He is the only son of Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. and Deborah Rae. After the divorce of his parents, Eminem stayed with his mother and shuttled between Detroit and Missouri, rarely staying in one house for more than a year or two. 

Eminem’s childhood was tough; he was bitten and bullied in the neighborhood and in school by the black kids. One time he got attacked by a big gay named D’Angelo in the school bathroom, resulting in him being in a coma for 10 days.

Eminem spent the majority of his time in his room focusing on storytelling and drawing. After hearing his first rap song (“Reckless”, featuring Ice-T) on the Breakin’ soundtrack, a gift from Debbie’s half-brother Ronnie Polkingharn.
