Wayne Wendell Daniel Nicknamed “Diamond” or “Black Diamond” was born on 16 January 1956, in Saint Philip, Barbados.

Career

In 1977, Daniel started his career with Middlesex he got a county cap in 1977 and was awarded a benefit in 1985. Taking  867 wickets at an average of just 22.47 with a best of 9 for 61 against Glamorgan in 1982.

Daniel took another 362 wickets at an average of 18.16 in 241 one-day games, including a then-English domestic one-day bowling record of seven wickets for twelve runs, for Middlesex against Minor Counties East at Ipswich.

Alongside his team Middlesex, Daniel win the County Championship outright in 1980, 1982, and 1985, shared it with Kent in 1977 and won the Gillette Cup in 1977 and 1980, the Benson & Hedges Cup in 1983 and 1986, and the 1984 NatWest Trophy. 

He also played for Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield 1981–82 season and for his native Barbados between 1976 and 1985.
